Star Wars Episode I / The Phantom Menace

Medium: Limited Edition Fine Art Giclee Print
Size: 22.5 x 34 inches
Year 1999

The word “giclée,” as a fine art term, has come to be associated with prints using fade-resistant, archival inks (pigment based, as well as newer solvent based inks), and archival substrates primarily produced on Epson and some other types of large format printers. These printers use the CMYK color process but may have multiple cartridges for variations of each color based on the CMYK color model, this increases the apparent resolution and color gamut and allows smoother gradient transitions. A wide variety of substrates are available including various textures and finishes such as matte photo paper, watercolor paper, cotton canvas, or artist textured vinyl.

These Giclee prints of Episode I are truly spectacular. So accurate is color, texture and value it is nearly impossible to tell the print from the original. This particular Star Wars image really shows off how grand the print is even when set next to the original.

The prints are Artist Proofs, hand signed and numbered. Artist's proofs are not included in the count of a limited edition. By convention, the artist is not supposed to sell these at once.
